Jaguar Cars is the luxury sports vehicle brand of Land Rover. As a British company, Jaguar is headquartered in the Selby district of North Yorkshire in Coventry, England.

The first Jaguar emerged in 1935. It was an SS sports saloon with a 2.5 litre engine under the company S.S cars limited. At the same time, the company also introduced a two litre model with a larger 3.5 litre engine named the Jaguar SS 100.

In 1945 S.S cars limited changed their company name to Jaguar Cars Limited.

In 1999, Jaguar became part of Ford's ownership and was merged with the Ford-owned Land Rover company in 2013 to create Jaguar Land Rover. Both Jaguar and Land rover have used joint design facilities and engineering plants in Jaguars birthplace Coventry as well as Warwickshire and Solihull.
